Officially Official: MINI Roadster Concept will join Coupe onstage in Frankfurt

MINI has officially revealed the Roadster Concept alongside the Coupe Concept we saw a couple of weeks ago, and like the rigid top version, the Roadster is a two-seater with a chopped roofline and tilted back windscreen. This is almost certainly the second new model that will be produced at MINI’s Oxford UK assembly plant alongside the Coupe.

We just saw shots of the new Mini Coupé Concept for the first time yesterday and Mini has now released a bunch of B-roll footage of the diminutive machine ahead of its Frankfurt Motor Show debut. There aren’t any shots of the two-door in motion yet, but you get plenty of beauty shots from a variety of angles – including more interior imagery.

Rumors have been swirling for months about what BMW would do on August 26, 2009 for its Mini brand. After all, that is the fiftieth anniversary of the public debut of Alec Issigonis’ original Mini. With most of the speculation revolving around either a coupe or some kind of cropped windshield speedster, it turns out the reality was somewhere in between.
